At present, the major sugarcane‑producing regions in southern China are vigorously advancing the mechanization and standardization of the sugar‑cane industry. Addressing longstanding industry challenges—low levels of mechanization in fragmented fields, high equipment‑purchase costs for smallholders, and uneven maintenance and management efficiency—many localities have stepped up their support policies for sugarcane‑related agricultural machinery. They have introduced comprehensive, multi‑dimensional subsidies for mechanized sugarcane operations, covering all stages of the cultivation‑planting‑management‑harvesting process. Notably, compact sugarcane hillers designed for use on small, scattered plots and hilly terrain have been successfully included in the agricultural machinery subsidy program. With their key advantages of broad adaptability, excellent cost‑effectiveness, and high practicality, coupled with favorable policy incentives, these machines have quickly gained market traction, effectively reducing farmers’ equipment‑acquisition and operating costs, accelerating the widespread adoption of mechanized field management, and injecting both policy‑driven and technological momentum into the sector’s efforts to enhance quality and productivity.

The 2026 “Sanxia” peak farming season has officially begun, with Wutuo’s full range of tractors deployed to major grain-producing regions including Henan, Hubei, and Guangxi, fully supporting integrated operations for summer harvest, tillage, and sowing. In response to the time‑critical nature and high‑intensity demands of the Sanxia period, Wutuo tractors—boasting robust overall performance, exceptional tillage efficiency, and fuel‑saving advantages—can handle a wide array of agricultural tasks such as deep plowing, land preparation, seeding, and straw crushing. This helps farmers seize the optimal planting window, ensure every grain is safely stored, and provides reliable, high‑performance machinery to support stable and bountiful grain production across the country.

As a distinctive and advantageous cash crop in southern China, sugarcane is predominantly cultivated on hilly and mountainous terrain, along field edges, and on scattered plots. Fragmented fields, inconsistent row spacing, and limited access within the fields are common conditions in sugarcane-growing areas. For a long time, large agricultural machines—characterized by their wide bodies, large turning radii, and restricted ground clearance—have been unable to enter these small, irregularly shaped plots to carry out operations. Consequently, traditional tasks such as soil mounding, weeding, and ridge maintenance have relied heavily on manual labor, resulting in high physical exertion, elevated labor costs, and persistent issues like uneven mounding, irregular ridge shapes, and incomplete weed control. This extensive, labor‑intensive management approach often leaves sugarcane roots exposed, reduces water and nutrient retention, and weakens lodging resistance, severely impacting plant vigor, yield, and quality during the mid- to late‑growth stages. As a result, the challenges of managing, improving quality, and increasing income in fragmented sugarcane fields have become major bottlenecks hindering farmers’ ability to achieve high yields. To address these shortcomings in the management of small, scattered plots and to suit the widespread pattern of household‑level, piecemeal cultivation, compact, efficient mini‑sugarcane mounding machines have gained strong market traction. With core advantages of flexible adaptability, precise operation, and significant savings in both time and labor, these machines are comprehensively empowering standardized, precision‑based management of scattered sugarcane fields.

Sugarcane is a vital sugar‑producing cash crop in southern China, with a large-scale industry and a long cultivation cycle. Field fertilization management directly determines sugarcane growth, sugar accumulation, and final yield. Traditional sugarcane farming typically relies on manual broadcasting and broadly applied, indiscriminate fertilizer application, which not only leads to uneven distribution, inconsistent application depths, and nutrient loss through runoff, but also results in significant nutrient waste, soil compaction, and low water‑and‑fertilizer use efficiency. Moreover, manual fertilization is time‑consuming, labor‑intensive, and costly, making it difficult to meet the demands of large‑scale, standardized sugarcane production and becoming a key bottleneck that hinders yield improvement, quality enhancement, and increased farmer incomes. To address these longstanding challenges in field fertilization and upgrade sugarcane cultivation and management practices—thereby aligning with modern, science‑based farming requirements—the new integrated sugarcane fertilizer applicator has been officially launched. With its intelligent, integrated, and precision‑driven operations, this machine comprehensively supports scientifically sound fertilization in sugarcane fields, helping the sugar‑cane industry boost both quality and efficiency while ensuring stable yields and higher incomes.

As a core economic crop in southern China, sugarcane is cultivated on a large scale and has a long growth cycle, placing extremely high demands on field preparation quality, soil conditions, and farming standards. Traditional manual land‑preparation methods and rudimentary mechanized tillage often result in compacted soil layers, uneven depth, poor surface leveling, and low operational efficiency—issues that can significantly compromise sugarcane emergence rates, root development, and subsequent plant vigor. To advance the standardization, scaling, and mechanization of sugarcane cultivation, Wutuo tractors have pioneered fully mechanized operations across the entire sugarcane‑field production process. With their expert land‑preparation performance, they provide comprehensive support for precision field preparation, laying a solid foundation for high‑quality sugarcane production and stable yields that drive increased income.

The sugarcane industry is one of Guangxi’s pillar agricultural sectors, and advancing full‑process mechanization in sugarcane production is of great significance for reducing costs, boosting efficiency, and stabilizing sugarcane farmers’ incomes. Recently, Wutuo Machinery of Nanning has once again announced encouraging progress in the field of mechanized sugarcane equipment: its patent application for “A Sugarcane De‑weeding Machine with Front and Rear Four‑Wheel Steering Drive” has been publicly disclosed as a national invention patent, while several other sugarcane‑related patents have entered the substantive examination stage. These developments mark key technological breakthroughs by Wutuo in post‑harvest processing equipment for sugarcane.
